5 Fine Motor Tools to Use in the Classroom

This activity not only strengthens hand muscles but also promotes hand-eye coordination and concentration. Turn a sensory bin into a center activity and fine motor activity. Fill a sensory bin with various items and center task cards. Let students use tongs to retrieve the items, or center cards.
In the Activity below, students use pompoms to spell high-frequency words.

As children grasp and maneuver the scissors to cut along lines or shapes, they refine their dexterity and precision.
