If you are a kindergarten teacher, then chances are you own a few Gingerbread Man books. Over the years I have acquired quite a collection. I have also created many gingerbread Man activities and centers. With so many fun and engaging Gingerbread Man activities, I decided to make an entire week of Gingerbread fun. We end the week with one spectacular Gingerbread Day.
Preparing for Gingerbread Day
Throughout the week we read many different versions of the Gingerbread Man. If you need more Gingerbread man books- check out this Blog Post. The Gingerbread Man 15 Must Reads for December
During the week we have a variety of Gingerbread Man Math and Literacy Centers, But the real fun begins at the end of the week for Gingerbread Man Day
Gingerbread Man Day
On Gingerbread Man Day the students arrive to find the room decorated and a large Gingerbread Man cookie waiting for them. During the day, students complete a variety of math and literacy centers along with a few Gingerbread Man crafts.

Of course, it wouldn't be a Gingerbread Man Day without a Gingerbread Man Hunt. At some point during the day, our giant Gingerbread Man Cookie disappears, only leaving a few crumbs and a note behind. The students follow the clues that lead them around the school, then back to the classroom where the cookie is waiting for them.
I use this cookie pan I found on Amazon. (affiliate link) I use the Betty Crocker Gingerbread Cookie mix- found at Target or Walmart and a small tube of white icing.
