This year I vowed not to bring a ton of teacher projects home. If you've followed my blog over the past few summers, you know that I have been known to bring enormous projects home for the summer. One year I brought my entire library home to reorganize it, last summer I brought home all of my centers and my files. Today's task was to separate my monthly centers between ELA and Math.
Once the centers were sorted I attached the new labels to the outside of the boxes using the scotch adhesive roller. This stuff is amazing. Every teacher should have it on hand. I keep all of my boxes inside an old wooden mail sorter. It has 40 slots half of it is holding the boxes, the other half holds copies that I run ahead of time and other items.
The following section contains affiliate links, which means if you click on one of the product links and purchase the product or any other product from this website, I'll receive a commission from Amazon.
The containers I use to store my centers are made by Sterilite. I am in love with these containers and own far too many. Not only do I use them to hold my centers, but I use them for my math and literacy station rotation materials. The March-April is my newest addition and can be found on Amazon as well. They seem to have the best price. The other set above, I purchased several years ago at Target. During the back-to-school time, they often get fun colors in with the dorm room collection. However- once they are gone, they don't make them anymore. This is why I now have a mismatched set.
I made my labels in PowerPoint to fit the front of my tubs the red is for ELA and the blue is for Math. Just click the picture below to get your labels.
What organizational products do you have planned this summer? I had hoped to also tackle my listening center sets as well, but I ran out of time. That just might have to wait for next summer. Luckily, they aren't in that bad of shape. I really just want to catalog all of my newer sets.
