Although my New Years Eve was uneventful, my vacation was relaxing and productive. I spent some time watching Hallmark Christmas movies and binge watching a series I found on TV Land called Younger, starring Hilary Duff. It is quite comical. It's about a divorced, middle-aged woman who needs to pretend to be 26 in order to land a job. Season two starts in a few weeks, now I am all caught up.
When I wasn't binge watching, I was being productive. I needed some new centers for January. What started out as being a few, snowballed into 20 math and literacy stations. I am so excited about these. All centers are common core aligned and each center has a recording sheet for you to check and monitor students progress. I can't wait for my kids to use them. I had a hard time deciding on which ones to use first. Silly right??? Below is just a sample. I have them listed as a bundle or you can purchase just the math or just the literacy centers.
January is always such a magical time in kindergarten the kids come back and they are different; they have grown in the two weeks we have been apart. They always seem more mature and ideas and concepts seem to just "click". The "late bloomers" start to bloom. January is one of my favorite months to teach and it means I get to teach my favorite childhood book. Can you guess what it is?
Be sure to come back I'll be sharing with you what that favorite book is and some great activities and projects to do this month.
