I survived the 100th day of school!!!
It was a huge day for us and really rushed at the end. We planned way too much, but the kids loved it all and that is what counts. Here is my teaching partner Laura and I right before we let the kids in. We didn't look this enthusiastic at the end of the day. We were DAWG tired.
The kids were greeted with the banner I made. This year I am laminating it and saving it. I used some oversized poster board and added some border, stars and letters from the Dollar Store. I hung some spiral, red, shiny stars from the bottom- I think they came from Walmart.
We had morning centers all about the 100th day, reading, writing and some math.
After recess we took a tour around the school to check out all the class projects. Here are just some of the fabulous projects created by our K-2 students.
But the real fun began right after lunch. We had hats to decorate, necklaces to string and snacks to be made.
Using the ten frame mat for the snacks and the necklaces worked out so well. There were no worries of anyone adding too much or too little. I made the bags ahead of time with labels with each students name on them.
The necklace, my t-shirt pattern and the hats can all be found in my Hooray for the 100th Day of School pack. I updated this pack earlier today. If you already own it, be sure to download it for the 2 new hat versions.
