My class arrived in a flurry, all were excited to share their homemade boxes and pass out their cards. BUT we had the regular day to get through first. Finally, after reading groups, centers and math time we began the task of passing out the valentine cards. Now EVERY year I say I won't give a list with the kids names, but in the end I always give the list and regret it. Lets face it most five year olds can't read their handwriting and many still can't read their friends names. Thankfully, I had some parents who came to help out and while some passed out their Valentines, the rest watched-I used that term loosely-Winnie the Pooh's Un-Valentine Day. One mom surprised the class with cupcakes piled high with pink frosting. I made sure to hand them out right before we went home. Let the parents deal with the sugar rush.
So, here are a few of our boxes. The directions stated to make it a family project. Obviously some families were involved a little and some much more.
Basketball and dinner at Costco was on the agenda for Valentines night. I still wasn't feeling well, and didn't think it necessary to spend a ton of money on dinner that I really wouldn't enjoy. So, for $4.90 the hubby had a hot dog, I had a slice of pizza and we shared a coke and churro for dessert. So romantic, I know. My son's team ended the season with a win.
Saturday I felt like I had been hit with a brick. Hubby gave me some cold medicine that knocked me out. He swears it was the day-time
Sunday I spent the day getting my creative juices flowing and finished two new word family products. YAY!!!! I've been wanting to get these done for a while now. It was good to have the time to complete them.
Two options for difficulty
So what am I doing today on my day off? Laundry, cleaning, a trip to Costco along with everyone else who was off and took the pound hounds for a really long walk through the muddy creek. Now I'm ready for a nap, but I need to finish that laundry and help start dinner. I convinced my hubby to barbecue chicken and make my fettuccine. He also volunteered to make my dessert for our school luncheon tomorrow. Life doesn't get much better than that. How was your weekend
