The Common Core Standards have been adopted by almost every state now. Many districts require teachers to post the standards. Although I am not required to post the standards I'm currently teaching, I do now. This is all thanks to Carson-Dellosa. They asked me to try out their newest product, The
Common Core Standards Kit. I love it! The first day I put it up, one of my sweet K-dkids asked what it was for. I explained to my class that there is a long list of things kindergartners need to know how to do before going to first grade. I then read them a few of the cards that were posted. I keep the cards on the side with the "kid friendly" terms which Carson-Dellosa refer to as "I Can". My kids loved that they could already do some of the items I had listed. I was working on creating my own, but why- when it has already been done for me.
Why I Like This Kit
- The kits are available for grades K-5
- It is organized in a box with divider tabs and color coded.
- It has the Common Core language on one side and Kid Friendly language on the other.
- There is a blank template on-line to create your own.
- Carson-Dellosa had a pocket chart designed to fit the cards.
- It is a visual reminder of what I'm working on.
- Great price $19.99
Whenever I have few minutes that I need to fill- you know those minutes when everyone's ready to go to lunch, but you still have five minutes, I refer to the chart to do a quick activity with my whole class.

I teach Pre K but this will serve me well in providing experiences to develop the prerequisite knowledge needed to master the requirements for Kindergarten.
This is amazing. I teach K and I have struggled writing the I can statements in kid friendly language. I would love to have this.
This would be so nice to have in the room as a visual for students and teacher!
I'd love to win this. Thank you
